Mason County Jail Roster

The Mason County Jail Roster, Washington, is a public resource that allows anyone to check who is currently in custody at the county jail. MasonCourt.us helps find publicly available information about individuals who are or were recently held in the facility. Additionally, data can be obtained through the official website of the Mason County Sheriff's correctional facility, in person at the jail lobby, or by calling the sheriff's office. The roster enables citizens to confirm an individual's custody status, view charges, and find out the booking date. This list is maintained by the Mason County Sheriff's Corrections Division and is published as a PDF report, which is regularly updated throughout the day.

Search Current Inmates in Mason Jail

There are several ways to find out if a specific person is in custody.

Online Search

  1. Visit MasonCourt.us to find publicly available court and jail information.
  2. Go to the current In Custody Report page — this is a PDF document updated throughout the day by the Mason County Sheriff.
  3. Since the report is in PDF format, there is no embedded search box. Use the browser function Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on Mac) to find the person's last name.

You will need the person's full legal name for the search. A booking number speeds up the search if you know it. Juvenile offenders are not displayed in the public roster.

By Phone

Call the Mason County Jail directly. The operator can confirm if a specific person is in custody and provide basic charge information.

In Person

You can visit the jail lobby. Bring a photo ID with you.

Find Mason Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created at the moment a person is officially admitted to jail. It is the first document recording a person's custody.

Each record typically includes:

  • Booking Number (Booking #)
  • Full name and identification number (Name Number)
  • Booking date and time (Book Date)
  • Charges with statute and offense class
  • Court jurisdiction (DIST — district, SUPR — superior)
  • Arresting agency

This data is available in the In Custody Report published on the sheriff's office server. The document lists all individuals currently in custody, along with a full list of charges.

If you need records not in the current report — such as information about previously released individuals — submit a public records request through the official Mason County portal. The Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56) grants citizens access to government documents, although certain data categories may be restricted.

Search the Mason Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The Mason County inmate PDF report is organized alphabetically by last name. There are two main ways to find the person you need:

By Last Name

  1. Open the report in your browser.
  2. Press Ctrl+F and enter the last name in Latin letters — exactly as it appears in the document.
  3. If the last name is common, add a comma and the first initial to narrow the results.

By Booking Number

Each record is assigned a unique number in the format, for example, 26-0334. Enter this number in the browser's search bar — it will take you directly to the needed record.

Practical Tips

  • Check the spelling of the last name. One incorrect letter and the search will show nothing.
  • Try variations with or without a hyphen if the last name is double-barreled.
  • Partial matches work: enter just the first few letters of the last name.

If the search yields no results, it could mean several things: the person has been released, they have not yet been entered into the system, or they are held in another facility. Call the jail at (360) 427-9670 to confirm. For court case checks, use the Washington State Courts case search.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Mason

The In Custody Report is updated several times a day — the generation timestamp is indicated at the top of the PDF document. It is not a real-time system.

What this means in practice:

  • There may be a delay of several minutes to several hours between actual booking and the appearance of the record in the report.
  • Once a person is released, their name disappears from the next update. This report does not archive past bookings.
  • Data entry errors occur — a name may be recorded with a typo or a different spelling variation.

The report reflects only those in custody at the time of the last update. It is not a complete archive of all individuals who have ever passed through the county jail.

For historical records or information on released individuals, contact the sheriff's office with a public records request. If you are interested in a person's criminal history at the state level, the Washington State Patrol maintains a separate criminal records database, which is formed based on fingerprints and data from law enforcement agencies and courts across the state.
